  • YLS Oyster Roast

    The First YLS Oyster Roast is an excellent opportunity for young leaders of the Midlands to gather together for an evening of food and fun while contributing to a good cause. The event will include oysters, chili, beer and wine, entertainment from Finesse Band and a supply drive for Leapheart Place. Leaphart Place provides housing and services to young adults with disabilities who were formally in out-of-home care, homeless or at risk of homelessness.

    As a newly opened facility, Leaphart Place has a dire need for various products to provide to their residents. These items can be dropped off at various locations throughout the community and will be collected at YLS events throughout the year. The following is a list of items that are needed:

    Personal Care Items:
    Band aids - Brush - Comb - Conditioner - Cotton balls - Deodorant - Feminine hygiene products - Floss - Lotion - Mouthwash - Q-Tips - Razors - Shampoo - Shaving cream - Soap - Toothbrush - Toothpaste
    Full-size items are needed the most!

    Linens:
    Bath towels - Hand towels - Washcloths - Kitchen towels - Sponges - Bathroom Mats - Full size sheet sets - Blankets - Comforters - Standard Pillows

    Kitchen Needs:
    Dishes - Silverware - Glasses (glass or plastic) - Pots - Pans - Baking Pan (cookie sheets, pizza pans, etc) - Microwave safe bowls - Utensils (spatula, mixing spoons, tongs, etc) - Measuring cups/spoons

    Cleaning supplies:
    Small trash cans (bathroom & kitchen) - Trash Bags - Bleach - Brooms - Mops - Sponges - Lysol (or similar type products) - Paper towels - Toilet paper - Laundry soap

    Non-perishable food:
    Canned food - Peanut Butter - Crackers - Pasta - Spices
